Why We Need to Rethink Salt: My New Article on Nutritionist Resource

For years, salt has been misunderstood — often blamed for rising blood pressure and poor health outcomes, with little regard for its vital role in the body. But for many people, especially midlife women navigating fatigue, hormone shifts, and chronic stress, the advice to cut back on salt may actually be making things worse.

I’m excited to share that my latest article, “Rethinking Salt: A Nutritional Essential Misunderstood,” has just been published on Nutritionist Resource.

In it, I unpack:

  • Why salt is not the villain it’s often made out to be

  • How sodium impacts energy, adrenal function, and hydration

  • The difference between refined table salt and mineral-rich sea salts

  • Why midlife physiology creates a greater need, not less, for good-quality salt

  • How low salt intake can contribute to symptoms like brain fog, low blood pressure, or salt cravings — even in those eating well

If you’ve been told to avoid salt but still feel tired, dizzy, or depleted — this piece may shed light on why your body might actually need more, not less.
